April Flowers

These flowers are very addictive.

And they're another way to use up stash yarn.

This will eventually turn into a pillow.

I'm going to try to get a pillow form this weekend so I know how many more to make.

Until then I guess I'll just keep making them.

Like I said, they are really addictive.

The pattern is from here. I love all the different color combinations other crocheters used on Ravelry and would love to make one in a wide variety of colors, but I have this earmarked for a special little someone already and these colors match her bed spread (mostly). I'll probably revisit the pattern again later and go crazy with color. Wouldn't this make a great throw at the bottom of a little girl's bed in a bunch of pinks, greens, oranges, lavenders? I've been yearning to make some girly things lately and this pattern fit the bill. I used a 3.75 mm hook and a mishmash of acrylic yarns.

  1. Hmmm, if ya wanna get rid of more yarn and just make the flowers (no square), I'd be happy to have them in various sizes to hang on my back door window (like the snowflakes). Just an idea if you don't already have enough on your plate... LOL! This is beautiful, by the way! - MK

  2. I love the flowers! You can probably attach those to little hats, too! You are such an inspirational crafter! I, on the other hand, have not touched the cupcake hat since our last girls' night!!! Maybe I am not cut out for knitting. :(

  3. Mk--I'll have to see about the flowers...Did I tell you I already have a bunch of snowflakes earmarked to make you for next year? Get ready for a blizzard!

K--the flowers would look cute on a hat! Bring your cupcake hat to the next girls' night and get cracking! YOU CAN DO IT! :)

  4. YES! A blizzard! Aaawwwwssssoooommmeee!!! BTW, Shannon was all set to sleep on that pillow you made her, but then insisted on telling she won't sleep on it "'cause I don't want to ruin it!'" LOL! She LOVES it! Oh, and Sloane has been putting the doll blanket to good use today, too!
